Hidden symbols

Hidden Symbols and the early Christian Fish

I was thinking briefly about hidden symbols, as I do from time to time I contemplate the most random of

things and the most pointless. However, this one seemed quite significant; so imagen for a moment the fish symbol used in Christianity, thought to be one of the oldest markers of identifying a secret Christian from the first century. Now I  know that it is accepted that early Christians would not have used the cross a religious symbol for the main reason of it being a sign of execution. Now, this is just the tangent my mind works in but what if they did use the cross!? Look at the graphic shape of the icthus fish, could it possibly be a looped cross!? A cross hidden in the graphic shape of a fish, a secret cross! It is interesting to note that by the second century the cross was recognised and linked to Christianity by both christians and Non-Christians under the title of 'the Lord's sign' or the 'people/devotees of the cross'.  Just obscure speculation really, makes sense considering a lot of the New Testament reference to the cross, crucifixion and it's central meaning to the faith or the world. Oh well thought it was interesting any way!
